CARLI I-Share Libraries

IIT patrons may have reason to visit one of the many local libraries. In the case of college/academic libraries, if the school is part of the CARLI I-Share group, IIT patrons can borrow circulating items with their current IIT ID.

Please use the following link for a listing of  CARLI I-Share institutions and  links to their Web pages. I-Share Institutions.

Chicago Area Libraries

Other libraries, such as the University of Chicago and Northwestern University restrict access to the public. To use these libraries, you will need an Infopass signed by Galvin Library staff. If you are considering visiting a specific library, contact the Reference Desk for more information.

It's also important to consider visiting one of the Chicago Public Library branches. The Harold Washington Library Center in downtown Chicago maintains a collection of all U.S. and British patents as well as a comprehensive collection of technical standards.
