Alumni Access after 6 PM

IIT alumni, who do not have a current library account, may use the Galvin Library after 6 P.M., but will be asked to present a government issued ID (examples include State ID, Driver's License or Passport) at the front desk. Once IIT staff has confirmed alumni status, alumni will have full access to all materials, technology and services within the Library.

Making a donation or bequest to the Galvin Library is a lasting tribute and puts essential resources into the hands of this and future generations.  Thanks for thinking of us! All donations to the library are tax deductible.

Galvin Library provides services to IIT alumni for an annual fee of $50, which includes borrowing privileges at the Galvin and Biegler libraries, as well as direct borrowing access to dozens of academic libraries in the state of Illinois. 

The individual will be responsible for any circulation activity occurring under these privileges, including usual and customary charges posted by the Galvin Library for overdue fines, replacement cost for books or other materials. Please note that recalls apply to all materials borrowed. Subscription to alumni services is intended for personal use only and is to be paid by the subscribing individual.

Due to vendor licensing restrictions, off campus access to Galvin Library's online databases is NOT included in alumni privileges.

Circulation The loan period for most items is three weeks, with possible renewal depending on the policy of the owning library.

You may also request books and articles through interlibrary loan.
