E-Journal Collections

Galvin Library subscribes to several collections of on-line journals relevant to electrical engineering. These typically have a search feature built in to the interface, although it is usually not as sophisticated or powerful as the search features in the library's research databases. Noteworthy collections are:

IEEE Electronic Library (IEL)
IEL contains the full text journal articles, conference reports, conference proceedings, and society papers of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and the Institution of Electrical Engineers. IEEE Explore contains more than 450,000 articles in over 12,000 individual publications. In addition, about 25,000 new pages are added each month. Available to registered IIT students, faculty, and staff both on-campus and through remote access.

ACM Digital Library
The ACM Digital Library Provides full-text access to all of the journal articles and conference papers published by the Association of Computing Machinery. The articles are all available in Adobe PDF format. The tables of contents and abstracts are in HTML. The system includes a robust search engine for searching by various fields. Available to registered IIT students, faculty, and staff both on-campus and through remote access.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)
This actually consists of two on-line libraries: SIAM Journals, with content from 1997 to the present, and SIAM Locus, an archive of all SIAM publications from 1952 through 1996. Journals of interest include Multiscale Modeling & Simulation; SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization; SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing; Theory of Probability and Its Applications; and SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics. Available to registered IIT students, faculty, and staff both on-campus and through remote access.
